EXCEL

Hey Everyone!

This was originally a short exhortation I did a few weeks ago. After presenting it, a couple of days later, I felt the Lord pushing me to write a blog about this small but powerful word: EXCEL.

The scripture I used for my exhortation was Proverbs 31:29 NKJV “Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all.”

Some versions of the bible have “excellest”

The word EXCEL means to be exceptionally good at or proficient in an activity or subject. For example: “she excelled at public speaking”.

Synonyms for the word “EXCEL” are: shine, be very good, be excellent, be brilliant, be outstanding, be skillful, be talented, be proficient, be expert, be pre-eminent, reign supreme, wear the crown, stand out, be the best, be unrivalled, be unparalleled, be unequalled, be without equal, be second to none, be unsurpassed;

Firstly, we serve a God who excels in what He does.

Psalm 150:2 NKJV “Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!”

We are created in the image of God and He expects us to excel. Here, we have the example of the Proverbs 31 woman, who excelled in every single area:

Relationship with God
Wife
Mother
Housekeeping
Cooking, baking
Business
Community

The Proverbs 31 woman excelled at everything! You name it!

A lot of times we look at the Proverbs 31 woman and feel threatened or terrified or afraid by her example. I want to remind us as women, that WE WILL NEVER EVER be the Proverbs 31 woman. We can learn from her, admire her, but we will NEVER be her or them; because some scholars believe that it is more than one woman.

However, on the other hand; and I thanked God for this revelation at the time!

Did you ever think (just for a second) that the Proverbs 31-woman ain’t got nothing on YOU? Did you ever think you can “top her”?

I remembered that I mentioned during the exhortation that YOU can be a Proverbs 32 woman – a chapter that has never been written! But that can only happen if you desire to EXCEL. Remember that we are rare! Our price is far above rubies.

This is the season to excel wherever God placed you. EXCEL/SHINE/REIGN right on your lane. EXCEL where God placed you.

If it is leading praise and worship, ministering in dance or exhortation. EXCEL.
If it is to clean the toilets at the church every week, be faithful, show up and shine those toilets like no other person can. EXCEL.
It if is to make a sandwich for your child’s event, make the best sandwich ever! EXCEL.

Also, God is expecting us to EXCEL in that which he has deposited in us. He wants us to use our talents, not to bury them – so that he can eventually blesses us with more.

Colossians 3:23-24 King James Version (KJV) “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”

Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV) “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Now, notice that you are not trying to be better than anyone else, you are just being yourself, staying on your lane and EXCEL in who the Lord created, formed and called you to be. EXCEL within your sphere of influence.

In this season, God is looking for a woman who is willing and ready to EXCEL.

In closing, I challenge you to become the Master of your craft. Guess what? Can’t nobody do it like you. Can’t nobody say it like you.
